Deja Vu - exhibited in Blink gallery, Poland St, London - May 2007
Deja Vu began when I approached Gered Mankowitz for portrait. Whilst speaking to Gered about a location for the shoot, the answer was staring directly at me - it was the image of Marianne Faithful sitting in the Salisbury pub photographed by Gered himself - and so Deja Vu came to life.
I revisited iconic photographs with the photographer sitting in the place of the original star. The idea was to create a familiar and nostalgic tone and not to copy the scene exactly.
